As a 50-year-old therapist late diagnosed with ADHD (2022), I found the strategies I’d developed to manage my life just weren’t working anymore. For a number of years, I have been experiencing executive functioning challenges, frequent feelings of overwhelm, and difficulties in planning for the future. If you have ADHD yourself, you know how isolating this can feel. I was hoping medication was going to be the panacea and unfortunately found it wasn’t. I needed an ADHD coach.
From our very first session, Yasmeen got me. She was understanding and asked a lot of questions I hadn’t thought about to help me understand what had been working well for me and where things could be tweaked (plenty of areas!). Turns out I couldn’t see the woods for the trees. Mostly, she really helped me unpack how to take things off my pile. It was evident in our sessions that I was doing the work of two people as I’d simply taken on too much, and it was not sustainable. Through working with Yasmeen I was able to start sifting through what felt like an insurmountable task to nut out the priorities. She was able to step me through ways I could better manage my time (without unrealistic neurotypical expectations). And I have been able to implement a number of the techniques we’ve worked on to be better organised, have more efficiency and to prioritise better.
She was empathetic and patient, and she understood the ADHD emotional rollercoaster. She was the calm amongst my storm!
Perhaps the most significant improvement has been in my ability to plan for the future. What once seemed like a daunting task is now an exciting opportunity for growth and development – and I feel so much better equipped and calm to tackle the year ahead in a manageable way. Yasmeen’s expertise and guidance have been invaluable in helping me set realistic goals and devise strategies to achieve them, as well as managing overwhelm.
I’m incredibly grateful to Yasmeen. Her expertise in ADHD has not only improved my life but has also provided me with tools and insights that benefit my own clients many of whom are neurodiverse. I wholeheartedly recommend Yasmeen to anyone who is looking to make their ADHD work for them, not against them — Faye L

She helped me uncover tailored strategies for focus and time management that have proved to be incredibly beneficial in my daily routine. She took the time to understand my specific challenges and guide me towards creating actionable steps that I could immediately implement.
